The Donostia-San Sebastián Film Commission was founded in April 2003, as a service provided through Fomento de San Sebastián and the City Hall to support and promote the film and audiovisual industry as a whole. The Film Commission of San Sebastian takes part in the big proyect PIA (Audiovisual Innovation Centre), an avant-garde space for the audiovisual industry.

San Sebastián is a creative, cultured city and traditionally linked to cinema. Its seven Film Festivals throughout the year (International Film Festival in September, El Sol, International Film Festival of Publicity in May, among others) are the reflect of its intense audiovisual activity.

The Donostia-San Sebastián Film Commission makes available to film, television and advertising producers a full range of free and personalised services aimed at shooting:

• Processing the shoot licences
• Supporting the collaboration among the international, national and local professionals companies
• Giving locations about the city
• Offering office spaces in rotation or as permanent base in a renting lower price than the market
