Vilau, founded in 2005 is part of the international business group INI-GraphicsNet and the well known German research network Fraunhofer; a global leader in the new media and digital content sector and one of the largest research networks in the world. Alticast, a Korean company and top international firm for the development of Interactive Digital TV Platforms, is also part of our business group. And also EiTB group, a local Spanish audiovisual holding operating 6 broadcast TV channels, 5 radio stations and 3 high-audience internet web sites and the applied technology institute Vicomtech located in San Sebastian.
Vilau´s headquarter is in Bilbao (Spain), and has offices in Roma (Italy), Darmstadt (Germany), Philadelphia (USA) and Buenos Aires (Argentina).

As a cutting-edge and innovative company, EiTB wanted to create a new television concept where the audience would play a leading role. Vilau offered EiTB the video participation format, a revolution technology in the sphere of interactivity and participation. Thanks to the video-participation platform, developed by Vilau, any viewer can star in his favourite programmes. The user only needs to have a Webcam or a mobile telephone with camera.
EiTB has applied this platform in programs of different thematic: Childhood (Betizu), magazines (Horrelakoa da Bizitza, Kalaka, Martina), and currently on air Hora GMT (international news with live correspondents connections)
