EikenBANK

10 companies in the Basque Audiovisual sector have joined forces to foster creative talent in Euskadi through an innovative project led by Eiken, the Basque Audiovisual Cluster.

EikenBANK, a bank of projects in which non-professional talent and production companies interact, is the name of the programme which has just been set up by the Basque Audiovisual Cluster (www.eikenbank.com). The initiative’s special feature resides in the fact that thanks to the capacity for collaboration and competition of the 10 companies involved (3Koma, Baleuko, Bilbovision, Canal Bizkaia, EiTB, Irusoin, Jarkatza, K2000, Orio Produkzioak and Pausoka), each EikenBANK Project will be developed in all its stages until it reaches the market as an audiovisual product: the creative project of non-professionals will be developed by one or two collaborating production companies, and EiTB, as the sector’s driving company, will buy and broadcast it.

Indeed, it is an innovative step designed by the partner companies whose aim is to put young creators in touch with companies in the Basque Audiovisual sector, to, in this way, encourage new products that can compete internationally and open the doors to new markets. EikenBANK is likewise proof of the audiovisual sector’s commitment to keeping creative talent in the Basque Country.

Young people with an original audivisual project (TV programmes, series, competitioins, news magazines or reality programmes, animated productions, documentaries, multimedia content…) can take part in the programme. They must not be working or collaborating professionally in a continuous fashion with companies in the sector in the field of contents. The bases of the programme and the entire procedure are outlined in the website through which the initiative is channelled (www.eikenbank.com).

This project promoted by Eiken – Basque Audiovisual Cluster has received considerable aid from institutions which believe in talent as a driving force and added value of Creative Industries.
